Lacamas Lake Half Marathon
July 25, 2010
If you haven’t participated in this event before, then you are in for a real treat. This race has been praised for its level of organization and beautiful scenery. Races start and finish at Camas High School, which is only 25 minutes from downtown Portland. This venue provides an amazing atmosphere to hold the “expo” portion of the event with its forested background and overlooking view of Lacamas Lake.
The scenic and moderately challenging course show off the beauty of both Lacamas Lake (half marathon) and Round Lake (4-miler). The event offers plenty of aid stations to keep you energized throughout the event. Both the Half Marathon and the 4-Mile race will have medals for every finisher. Also included is a technical T-shirt with event and sponsor logos and a free dinner for the first 1500 registered participants at the Old Spaghetti Factory. At the start/finish line will be a health and fitness expo, fruit, bottled water, and bagels.
At packet pickup, you can enjoy refreshing beer from Widmer Brothers and cheese bread from the Old Spaghetti Factory. At the end of race will be a raffle for a free pair of Adidas Shoes. You must attend Saturday’s packet pickup to earn a chance of winning. There is also a kid 1k fun run that continues to grow each year. It’s so much fun to see the kids running around the track.
When you walk this event, your registration fee benefits local high schools, the American Cancer Society, and the Leukemia Team in Training. Try this event and to see why it continues to grow and is viewed as one of the most beautiful Half Marathon and 4-mile courses in the region. Complete event details are available at www.lacamaslakerunwalk.com.
